DECEMBER 2004:

Showed a_rage at the Australian Game Developers Conference (AGDC).

OCTOBER 2004:

Showed hardware prototype and game tech demo to Sony Computer Entertainment and Microsoft. Set up meetings with international company executives.

SEPTEMBER 2004:

a_rage collaborates with developer Ga Ga Games to create four video demos.

AUGUST 2004:

a_rage engages Proen Design Australia (www.proen.com.au) to design - and produce a rapid prototype of - the Head Mounted Visor.

JUNE - DECEMBER 2004:

a_rage pty ltd runs a design competition for 3rd year Industrial Design students in conjunction with the Louis Laybourne-Smith School of Architecture and Design, City West Campus, Adelaide Australia. See `HARDWARE' link for the UniSA student designs.

JUNE 2004:

While both are appearing at ACE 2004 [ACM SIGCHI International Conference on Advances in Computer Entertainment Technology] (http://www.ace2004.org/ ) a_rage CTO Assoc. Prof. Bruce Thomas consults with game design guru Ernest W. Adams (www.designersnotebook.com) on the AR gameplay in the various a-rage games in development. Ernest's design concepts are subsequently built into the design of these games.

JUNE 2004:

$52k AusIndustry COMET Grant to develop the hardware.

MAY - OCT 2004:

Game tech demo and hardware development; game design, software engineering, art assets created, hardware (head-mounted visor), testing, market research, promotional development (filming and imaging), grants and IP/legal.

MAY 2004:

ITEK incorporates and invests in a_rage Pty Ltd. Greg Macpherson appointed as General Manager to oversee development of the business. Company engages 10 personnel.

MARCH 2004:

a_rage project pitched to ITEK Pty Ltd. ITEK assesses and approves to incubate the company.

FEBRUARY 2004:

a_rage consults with Deloitte on commercialisation issues.

JANUARY 2004:

a_rage consults with Michael Burns AusIndustry COMET advisor.

OCTOBER 2003:

Bruce and Joe obtain a $10,000 South Australian Film Corporation grant - to pitch the system to industry game leaders. This generates a favourable response.

AUGUST 2003:

a_rage engages Piper-Alderman solicitors (http://www.piper-alderman.com.au/) to handle legal issues for the pitches, such as IP protection and NDAs. Thanks to Marianne Dunham and the team at Pipers in Adelaide for all your hard work, help and support.

MARCH 2003:

Game Designer Joe Velikovsky and Assoc. Prof. Bruce Thomas meet at the Adelaide International Film Festival, on the "Convergence of Games and AR" panel (and the a_rage Idea is born). (Adelaide International Film Festival - Spatial Cinematics Forum).
